I was talking about that with a friend. My navi looks like Mario Bros level when you're on a bridge.

Mine has options for the car but none as cool as that. I have big car, bro truck, small car, bird and beach ball for some reason.

I guess you have to find out how difficult it is to swap in a factory navi unit.
My new 08 TL didn't come with navi (the only option for the TL). I thought, oh, I'll just swap in the navi unit one day! Nope. The wiring is such a pain in the ass that a dealer would refuse to do it, and if they did agree, they'd ding you like $6000. Even as a DIY project it would be an epic build taking dozens of man-hours. Such a project is certainly beyond my abilities.
So I just use my smartphone with an offline maps to save data charges. Shrug.

Yeah the days of just swapping the radio/display are well over. Between wiring harnesses, dashboards, and components, OEM's went a little nuts a few years ago.
NOW, if your Mazda has a radio with a touch screen display, all you have to do is add a SD card reader, or JUST the SD card.
